Conference Update and Extended Deadline for CFP Submission

Dear AHSIE Members,

Over the past few months, the AHSIE Conference Planning team has been working diligently to present viable options for the AHSIE Conference in March 2021 that takes into account the health and safety of our practitioners.

This year our theme is Centering HSIs in Times of Change. We have heard from members about the financial struggles their own institutions are facing, travel bans, and other challenges. We have also been keeping up-to-date with California restrictions and in-person meeting regulations. As we see numbers of COVID-19 cases rise nationwide, we must take the health and safety of our members into account. Out of an abundance of caution and physical restrictions currently in place in California, we have decided to transition the 13th Annual AHSIE Conference to a fully virtual format. We will be using platforms that you are familiar with such as Zoom which have lower bandwidth requirements and new platforms to create a robust conference experience similar to what you have come to expect from in-person AHSIE conferences. We have an amazing keynote speaker lined up and top-notch invited speakers to help you continue to grow and serve students at HSIs, more to come on this!

Our Call for Proposals deadline has been extended to Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 11:59pm PST to provide additional time to factor the change to a virtual environment into account. Please follow this link to submit a proposal for the 13th Annual AHSIE conference.

Our registration system is now live! Please visit  www.AHSIEconference.org to register for the 2021, 13th Annual AHSIE Conference.

We are grateful for your support during these unprecedented times and are committed to supporting HSIs and HSI practitioners. Please stay safe.

In solidarity,
The AHSIE Conference Planning Committee
