This retreat will help participants examine how their communication styles and values affect their interactions and responses; to explore how they interpret and respond to various styles of communication; ultimately how their communication preferences impact participation levels on campus and elsewhere. Participants will explore what issue(s) is/are most challenging for them personally and professionally when interacting with others.

Intended participants: Students employed by a HSI grant initiative (Title V/Title III HSI STEM) or involved in equity related efforts including research, internship, organizing, and advocacy work. Ideal participants will demonstrate academic achievement and potential for leadership and contribution to the Latinx/e community.
