Project Management Institute (PMI) Overview:

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is designed to prepare HSI grant leaders for project implementation by providing the fundamentals skills and knowledge needed to successfully, and efficiently, implement a U.S. Department of Education HSI grant program (Title V Part A and B and Title III Part F HSI STEM and Articulation). 

PMI will address the following topics:

  • Project start-up, 

  • Project implementation, 

  • Evaluation and assessment, 

  • Budget, indirect costs and endowments, 

  • Regulations, internal controls, audits and site visits, and 

  • Performance reporting

This interactive institute will focus on providing training, competency, navigating challenges, and addressing the questions of participants. Throughout the institute, the facilitators will share their own experiences and best practices for project management and support participants with planning, initiating, and executing the start-up of their projects.

Intended Audience:

This institute is highly recommended for early-year, or novice, Project Directors, aspiring Project Directors, and experienced Project Directors interested in a refresher and fostering and supporting the sharing of best practices and mentorship of colleagues new to their roles.

Deepen your skill-set, improve the efficiency of project implementation, develop a network of support and resources, and ensure a successful start to your project.
