Dr. Jorge Michael Cuellar is a seasoned academic leader with over 25 years of experience in public higher education, currently serving as Dean of Faculty at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus—the institution’s largest campus. In this role, he oversees academic programs and faculty, chairs the collegewide Academic Leadership Council and Joint Deans Council, and leads the Campus Academic and Student Support Council. His leadership is marked by a strategic focus on data-informed decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and institutional transformation. In addition, as lead Dean for Mathematics, Dr. Cuellar spearheads collegewide initiatives to d completion, particularly in gateway courses. His interdisciplinary approach and unwavering support for students and faculty have earned him a reputation for fostering inclusive excellence. He has previously served as Chairperson of the Liberal Arts Department, Title V Grant Director, and Director of the Math and Science Study Center, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to diverse educational disciplines. His message emphasized empowering educators, fostering inclusive learning environments, and implementing innovative strategies to enhance institutional impact. As a Fellow of the National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) Leadership Fellows Program (2023–2024), Dr. Cuellar received intensive training in strategic planning, governance, and equity-driven leadership. His philosophy, grounded in situational and adaptive leadership, reflects a deep understanding of individual needs and institutional dynamics. Dr. Cuellar has led targeted leadership development for department chairpersons, guiding them in re-envisioning their roles to meet the demands of today’s higher education landscape. With over 22 years of instructional experience in Mathematics at MDC and the University of Miami, he remains committed to academic rigor and student success.
