David Trujillo, Lead Facilitator
David Trujillo has spent the last 40 years in the grant-seeking and sponsored programs arena, and has thirty-plus years of experience working at Title III/Title V- eligible institutions. As a staff member and an external advisor, he has assisted over 40 colleges and universities obtain Title III and Title V funding. His work in grants development and grants management has focused on using sponsored programs to bring about sustainable systemic change. Overall - since 1977 - this work has led to over $200 million in successful awards. Mr. Trujillo is a retiree from the University of New Mexico and currently leads a multi-disciplinary team of grants consultants via David F. Trujillo & Associates, LLC. Previously, he served as the Director of Grants, Special Initiatives and Title V at the University of New Mexico-Taos,where he managed the campus’ grants-seeking, partnership and special projects activities; directed the campus’ Title V project and coordinated the Taos component of a four- institution HSI-STEM Cooperative Arrangement project. Among other positions, Mr. Trujillo was Dean of Grants and Sponsored Programs and Interim President at Northern New Mexico College; Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs at New Jersey City University; and Director of Community and Special Projects at the University of Southern Colorado.
