Dr. Claudia Rodas (She/Her/Ella) serves as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Initiatives Advisor at Northern Arizona University (NAU) contributing to the university's commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Her journey at NAU began in 2006 when she pursued two master’s degrees in educational technology and educational leadership, followed by a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Rodas has since become a valued faculty member in the College of Education.

As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. Rodas is deeply dedicated to supporting Latinx(e) students through a race-conscious lens. Her mission is to embrace the diversity within the student body and ensure equitable experiences and outcomes for all. She takes pride in mentoring and advising students from marginalized communities, guiding them towards success in higher education.

Beyond her role at NAU, Dr. Rodas has a rich background in education. Before joining the university, she served as a science teacher at Cibola High School in Yuma, Arizona. Her teaching experience spans across elementary and middle school levels, where she engaged with students in general education, special education, gifted programs, advanced placements, second language learners, and culturally, linguistically, and diverse student populations.

Dr. Rodas is not only an advocate for Latinx(e) students but also champions the cause of non-traditional students and those facing disabilities. Her commitment extends to creating an inclusive environment for individuals who may not feel represented in traditional classroom settings.

With her comprehensive experience and unwavering dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Dr. Rodas stands as a dedicated advocate to fostering positive change for the diverse needs of the community she serves.
